Esfir Raykher arrived from Moscow to New York in 1981.She worked for almost 20 years in the Housing Authority as an assistant manager. After retirement she was fascinated by painting and became a member of the Jewish Folk Craft Guild since 2012. She takes an active part in exhibitions and public life of the Guild. She traveled a lot and felt deep emotional attachment toward landscapes. About her works Esfir says: “ I am painting and have always been haunted by the feeling that I was here once, and I want the viewers to develop an emotional response”.
